Inter BEE 2010: Quantel demonstrates the 3D image production process.

2010.11.18 UP

The Quantel booth.

Quantel (booth #7301) split its booth into two sections: one for post-production and one for broadcast, but both featured stereoscopic 3D. The main attraction at the post-production section was Pablo, the package used in the finishing process for the movie Avatar. This latest incarnation, Version 5, has a host of stereoscopic tool features focused on stereoscopic 3D, such as RED soft mount functions and real-time grading.

The broadcast side of the booth featured the sQ server and the Qube editor, both optimized for stereoscopic 3D. As the server can save the left and right streams separately, parallax differences and colors can be adjusted until just before going on air. Quantel also introduced project QTube, a global workflow tool currently under development.
