In a March 24th session entitled "2nd Screening as the key to effective TV experience enhancement and audience engagement," Belgian company Appiness introduced its interactive video screening application "spott." The app uses voice recognition to allow users to search for information on the clothing and props used in programs. Users can then purchase these items.
Appiness business development head Stephanie Scheller mentioned network stability and user-friendly interfaces as keys to introducing interactive functions to television. She also said that it is important to further personalize interactive TV programs.
