American company Dan Dugan Sound Design was founded 50 years ago, and this year will mark the fifth anniversary of their first appearance at Inter BEE, as they will make a joint appearance with digicom Corporation when Inter BEE 2018 is held at Makuhari Messe from November 14th to 16th (Wed to Fri), 2018. Their booth (Hall 2 / 2317) will include a presentation by Dan Dugan as well as a working demonstration of their new “Dugan Model E-2A” automixer (pictured above). They will also be showing their MADI interface 64ch “Dugan Model M” automatic mixer and Dante interface 64ch “Dugan Model N” automatic mixer.

■ Demonstration of the new “Dugan Model E-2A” automatic mixer
The “Dugan Model E-2A” is the successor to the “Dugan Model E-2,” and by connecting it with existing analog mixers and digital mixers (ADAT connection), this model makes adding automix functionality possible. It supports automixing for up to 12ch, or up to 16ch with ADAT. It includes the Speech System and Music System algorithms, and it is equipped with a Matrix Mixer that is useful for mixing post fader signals via a direct out. Also, it can be controlled remotely with the Dugan Control Panel for Java or with the Dugan Control Panel for iPad app.

■ The new versions of the “Dugan Model M” and “Dugan Model N” automixers will also be shown
The "Dugan Model M" is a MADI interface 64ch automatic mixer, and it includes optical and BNC MADI connectors. The "Dugan Model N" is a Dante interface 64ch automatic mixer, and starting with redundant mode and daisy chain mode, it has four network ports that can be configured independently. These automixers also support AES67, device lock, and Dante Domain Manager. Both models also support a 96kHz sampling rate and Power over Ethernet (PoE).

With these updates to the “Model M” and “Model N,” six internal mix buses have been added, and by connecting via a direct out with previous mixers that did not support post fader insert, summing can be performed on the automixed signal before returning it to the mixer and more, making direct routing and output for a desired input signal possible.

They will also show the “Dugan Model K” physical controller (supports all models), the “Dugan Model E-3A” automixer (supports AES/EBU), and the “MY16-Dugan” automixer card (supports Yamaha Mini-YGDAI).
