The theme of ATEN Japan's display was "Peripherals offered by ATEN supporting 4K/2K video." Items on display were from ATEN's "VanCryst" series and ranged from digital signage to products of interest to the prosumer, such as video matrix switchers. The products were demonstrated, showing how ATEN products can be of benefit in the world of 2K/4K video.

* Seamlessly switching video output to eight monitors
One of the highlights was a demonstration of seamless switching using the eight inputs and eight outputs of the VM5808H HDMI matrix switcher, and 4K/2K-compatible peripherals.
The VM5808H is a high-speed seamless switcher. It is able to output 8 lines of HDMI signals over 8 lines to a matrix. It supports real-time OSD, and has maximum resolution of 1080p, 1920×1080. The product comes with software for the management of remote-control switching of connections.
At the company's booth, the VM5808H was used to show how it is possible to direct video content to eight different monitors, and rapidly switch them around.

* Making it possible to play video at a remote location without time lag
At the booth, there was also a demonstration showing how it is possible to transmit video to a remote location without time lag. In one example, a 4K-compatible, 8-port HDMI extension distributor — the "VS1818T" — split an HDMI signal into eight lines and delivered them up to 100 meters away over Category 5e cables. There was also a demonstration of a wireless, 5-input, 2-output HDMI matrix extension device— the "VE829" — which delivers HDMI signals wirelessly over distances up to 30 meters.

* Aiming at developing new markets in the medical and education sectors
The VS1818T splits a single-line HDMI signal into 8 lines and transmits them over a distance. Used together with the VE812R receiver, two outputs can be supported. Maximum resolution is 4k×2k, 1080p. Signals can be transmitted over a distance of up to 100 meters (1080p).
A feature of the VE829 is that selected outputs from up to five HDMI devices can be transmitted wirelessly to a remote location. As well as HDMI signals, infrared signals can also be transmitted. With WHDI technology, transmission with a delay of less than one millisecond is achieved. Maximum resolution is 1080p. Signals can be transmitted over a distance of up to 30 meters (1080p).
The company aims to expand the utilization of the technology. Apart from the video and broadcasting industries, it is proposed that the technology would be applicable to the field of medicine as a useful tool in diagnosis and surgery, and in education for distance learning. All of the products described are expected to be available before the end of the year. Pricing has not yet been determined.
