At its Inter BEE 2015 booth (Pro Audio, Booth 1421), Hibino Intersound demonstrated the S21 digital mixing console by DiGiCo (U.K.).
This new product, just released on November 16th, is a compact, lightweight model that follows in the footsteps of the world tour standard in mixing consoles, the SD Series by DiGiCo. It has a standard sampling rate of 96kHz. This high resolution results in faithful sound reproduction with very clear audio quality.
In addition to being equipped with an I/O expansion card with a wide variety of options to select from to suit your purpose, the unit can also be connected to an I/O rack. It is compact and lightweight, with dimensions of W763×H295×D586mm, and a mass of 19kg. The console uses a newly-released low-cost FPGA, is programmed with the same audio algorithms as the SD Series, and is newly equipped with an ARM QuadCore RISC processor. Simplified commands and circuits are designed to accelerate operations, resulting in high-cost performance and faster throughput, as well as reduced power consumption.
S21 uses a high-powered QuadCore SoC, integrating 4th generation SHARK DSP and FPGA. It is designed in advance to handle added functions, with energy to spare for controlling functions beyond those built in. The sampling rate is a high resolution 96kHz, which produces clear, high quality audio. With 96kHz as a standard, it is capable of high quality mixing without adding any extra options.
