News was mainly sent by broadcast to peoples' TV sets at home in the past, but stations are investigating ways to rapidly deliver news via the Internet to smartphones. Signs of change in the way disasters and news have been reported in the past have come into view during the course of this investigation, and activities to seek out the new role of TV stations have emerged. In this session, we will hear about the strategies of three stations continuing to make advanced efforts in this field.

[Abstract]
Will terrestrial TV stations (local stations) responsible for transmitting local information weaken when the local economy slumps following 2020? However, movements have started recently to transmit information independently in partnership with the local region (sideways) and other sequences and regions (diagonally) in addition to existing sequences (lengthways). While introducing examples of the ""sideways"" and ""diagonal"" mentioned here, the potential of post-2020 terrestrial TV will be considered.

This session will introduce the idea of "Curation TV" to support new viewing styles such as time shift and play shift. It will also introduce "TV Code" as a new business model.

[Abstract]
The emergence of paid video distribution platforms is creating opportunities for people to come into contact with a variety of video contents as well as enabling producers to take up the challenge of new video expression free from the constraints of existing forms. Top-class original content started from distribution platforms is also increasing. Nevertheless, the growth in the overall number of paid subscribers is slow and taking the time and cost to continue producing original contents is difficult. The issues and potential will be fully discussed by both sides of this service - two major Japanese platform companies, and producers that have collaborated with overseas platforms.
