■ Advancing to a comprehensive media exhibition aimed at realizing “Society 5.0” - a super smart society
Providing an opportunity to present new user experiences in media and entertainment fields, Inter BEE is aiming to develop into a "comprehensive media exhibition” which, with an emphasis on “contents”, covers "making (production)", "sending (transmission)" and "receiving (experience)" contents. The 2018 exhibition will advance those efforts.
■ Jointly held with Digital Contents EXPO 2018
Previously held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Koto City, Tokyo), the “Digital Contents EXPO 2018” (Host: Digital Content Association of Japan) will be jointly held with Inter BEE 2018 at the Inter BEE exhibition venue.
Jointly holding Inter BEE 2018 with the leading-edge content technology international exhibition “Digital Contents EXPO”, will introduce a diversity of technology to enrich content production support and expression such as VR, AR, MR, 3D, CG, AI, IoT, drone, and robotics, so visitors can experience the future and exhibitors can promote the use of content technology in the media and entertainment fields.
■ Launch of new ４K/8K satellite broadcasting and potential of (5G) fifth generation mobile communications systems
Inter BEE 2018 will be proposing new video and audio technology to broadcasting and communication businesses and content creators by, for example, raising awareness of and publicizing “new 4K/8K satellite broadcasting” due to start on 1st December 2018. The exhibition will also promote the potential of using 5G (fifth generation mobile communications systems) in the media and entertainment fields in preparation for the launch of its services in 2020.
■ Record number of exhibitors and visitors last year
Using all halls (1 to 8) of Makuhari Messe for the first time, 1,139 companies exhibited at Inter BEE 2017; 102 conference sessions were held; and the number of visitors over the three-day period was 38,083. All these figures broke previous records.
Inter BEE 2018 will be held under the slogan of "Telling the World of the Possibilities of New Media" in anticipation of 2020, when the eyes of the world will be on Japan, and it provides an opportunity for effective and meaningful information exchange and business creation for exhibitors and visitors alike.
We are now actively accepting applications so that even more companies and groups will exhibit at Inter BEE 2018.
