Inter BEE 2009

816 exhibitors will be participating this year,

the largest number to date!

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA/Chairman: Fumio Ohtsubo, President of Panasonic Corporation), with the support of The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and The National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan (NAB-J), will be sponsoring The International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition or Inter BEE 2009 - For Video, Audio, and Communications Professionals - that will be held for a 3-day period from November 18th to 20th, 2009 (Wednesday to Friday) at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City).

This year, a total of 816 exhibitors - the largest number to date (including 466 exhibitors from 30 overseas countries/regions) - will use 1,391 booths to display products and technologies in a 33,936m2 area encompassing Halls 4 to 8 at Makuhari Messe. It is also expected that the total number of visitors over the 3-day period will exceed the 35,000-plus participants recorded last year.

Terrestrial analog broadcasting in Japan will be completely terminated on July 2011, and continued progress in video technologies is heralding the dawn of a new age in HD production and 3D content production in the broadcasting industry. This year will mark the 45th Inter BEE - a comprehensive exhibition that brings together under one roof not only the latest in traditional broadcasting technologies, communications, IT, AV equipment, and lighting apparatuses but also diverse fields highlighting innovations such as new proposals for production workflow centering on HDTV and versatile, flexible solutions that can be adapted to these proposals. Inter BEE is the largest exhibition of its kind in Japan and it is widely recognized by professionals in the industry, drawing a large number of visitors from video and content production fields as well as distribution sectors. Additionally, to showcase the recent movement toward digitization in broadcasting, a new Cross Media Zone featuring IPTVs and Mobile TVs will be available at the venue this year to focus on new industries from the standpoint of broadcasting and video fields. At this zone, visitors can discover more about the future of mobile TV businesses after the transition to digital terrestrial broadcasting is completed as well as enjoy pavilion-style exhibitions covering digital signage, digital cinema, and 3D imaging.

A number of conferences closely linked to exhibited products and technologies will be held at Inter BEE to strengthen its reputation of being a comprehensive exhibition that showcases the vast and rapid transformation of a broad spectrum of technological fields worldwide. At Inter BEE Content Forum 2009, the latest trends in the field of content will be discussed under the theme of, "Toward Value Content Creation from the User's Perspective", by invited presenters who lead the industry in the fields of video, content and audio. In an effort to enhance the development of human resources in the industry, the Inter BEE Tutorial Session will be aimed at informing neophytes in the broadcasting, audio and video industries, as well as students who are planning to work in the industry, about trends in leading edge technologies and how to make the best use of the latest equipment, systems, and content production methods.

In addition to the aforementioned conferences, the 46th NAB-J Symposium of Broadcast Technology, the 11th NAB Tokyo Session, the National Board of Regional Visual Industry Association Forum 2009 Chiba Convention, the 11th DigiCon6 Pre-Conference, and IPTV Summit will be held simultaneously to introduce the latest in technological trends from various perspectives. Everyone here at the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association and its supporters wish to extend a warm welcome to join us at Inter BEE 2009.
