Inter BEE 2008

Exhibition Guide

From November 19th, 2008 the largest number of exhibitors
in the history of the event will be participating!

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA/Chairman: Etsuhiko Shoyama, Chairman of the Board, Hitachi, Ltd.), with the support of The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and The National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan (NAB-J), will be sponsoring Inter BEE 2008 - The Professional Show for Audio, Video and Communications - that will be held for a 3-day period from November 19th to 21st, 2008 (Wednesday to Friday) at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City).
Currently, there are three years remaining until terrestrial digital broadcasting replaces analog broadcasting in most areas of Japan. And continual advancement of video technologies is heralding the dawn of a new age in HD production for the industry, signifying the start of next-generation broadcasting. Add to this, the synergies that result from the fusion of broadcasting and communications, as well as high industry expectations for a whole new genre of services, and it's obvious that 2008 is an auspicious time for the start of Inter BEE and this year marks the 44th time it is being held. As one of the world's three main exhibitions of broadcasting equipment - in addition to NAB in the US and IBC in Europe - Inter BEE brings together under one roof the latest in broadcasting, video and audio equipment, as well as related applications and solutions from Japan and overseas.
This year, a total of 781 exhibitors - the largest number to date (including companies from 26 overseas countries and 400 regional exhibitors) - using 1,968 booths will be participating in a 47,250m2 area spanning Halls 2 to 8 in Makuhari Messe. In addition to the usual professional audio, video and broadcasting equipment sectors, a sector for professional lighting related exhibits will be featured this year. It is also expected that the total number of visitors over the 3-day period will exceed the 35,000 participants recorded last year.
We wholeheartedly welcome all members of the press and hope that they will expand their coverage of Inter BEE 2008. Upon arrival, all members of the press are requested to go to the press room on Level 2 of Hall 5 for press registration. And to further facilitate efficient press coverage, we have included a new interview room at this year's exhibition so please feel welcome to make full use of this facility.
