Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA: Toshiaki Higashihara, Chairman / President and Chief Executive Officer of Hitachi, Ltd.) will hold Inter BEE 2017 – a professional exhibition of audio, video and communications – at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba) over three days from November 15 (Wed) to 17 (Fri), 2017. We will start accepting applications to exhibit at Inter BEE 2017 from today March 1 (Wednesday). The primary application deadline is May 31 (Wednesday); the secondary application deadline is June 30 (Friday).

■Exhibition Slogan: WHAT WILL YOU DO NEXT? Tell the World of the Possibilities of New Media
Inter BEE, which has been held since the year after the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, is approaching our 53rd anniversary. Broadcasting media has undergone repeated growth and development over the past half a century – from black and white to color, from analog to digital and from SDTV to HDTV. The switch to new 4K/8K broadcasting also started last year. Inter BEE, which has grown together with the development of broadcasting media, is held under a slogan that expresses a desire to “tell the world of the possibilities of new media” toward 2020 when the eyes of the world will be on Japan.

■Three Year Plan with the Aim of Becoming a Comprehensive Media Event
Inter BEE will be taking the first step in 2017 toward transforming into a comprehensive media event encompassing the technical elements of “making (producing),” “sending (transmitting)” and “receiving (experiencing)” content over the next three years with this “content” positioned at the core as an opportunity to present new user experiences in the media industry in the age of digital transformation with 2017 to 2019 serving as one span.

■Record Number of Exhibitors and Visitors Last Year: Aiming for a Further Increase in 2017
There were a record number of 1,090 exhibitors and a record number of 38,047 visitors over three days at Inter BEE 2016 last year. We are aiming to bring even more exhibitors and visitors to Inter BEE 2017. In addition to four exhibitor categories (Professional Audio Equipment, Video Expression/Professional Lighting, Video Production/Broadcast Equipment and ICT/Cross Media), we will be holding popular special projects and varied conferences. These will include INTER BEE IGNITION, to showcase new video expressions; INTER BEE EXPERIENCE, an audio experience demo corner; INTER BEE CREATIVE, to reveal the frontline of creative production; and INTER BEE CONNECTED, to introduce the latest trends in broadcasting and communication cooperation. This means Inter BEE 2017 will provide opportunities for effective and meaningful information exchange and business creation for all exhibitors and visitors. We are proactively looking for even more companies and organizations to exhibit at Inter BEE 2017.
