Call for Exhibitor Applications

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA; Kaoru Yano, Chairman, NEC Corporation) will be holding Inter BEE 2012 — the 48th Professional Show for Audio, Video and Communications — for a 3-day period from November 14th to 16th at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba).

Inter BEE will mark the 48th time for the exhibition to be held, which is well-known among users of broadcasting equipment and devices as the largest domestic exhibition of its kind for audio, video and communications professionals. Each year at Inter BEE broadcasting companies are joined by equipment manufacturers and companies offering other broadcasting-related services, and the exhibition is utilized not merely as a forum for providing and receiving information about the latest equipment, but also as an opportunity to engage in dialogue about standards and rules relating to broadcasting and visual technologies and make notifications about operational matters. Inter BEE is also expected to play a role as an information hub for the various aspects of the media business.

The previous Inter BEE 2011 saw the largest-ever number of overseas exhibitors, from 35 other countries and regions. In total there were 800 companies (466 from overseas) exhibiting in 1,329 booths. A total 30,752 visitors attended the exhibition. Inter BEE is now recognized as international media exhibition that plays an important role in global business schemes, standing alongside similar events such as NAB Show in the United States, IBC in Europe, and BIRTV in China.

At the previous Inter BEE 2011 an exhibit by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications White Space Committee and a conference on V-low frequencies demonstrated the latest efforts to seek out cross-media potential and develop next-generation media businesses. In addition, Inter BEE is accredited as an official event of the Japan International Contents Festival (CoFesta 2011), which is sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and also holds the Asia Contents Forum in collaboration with TBS DigiCon6 as a regular event. In this way we are continuing to evolve as an exhibition that attracts the attention of the contents industry both in Japan and Asia.

Furthermore, we have concluded partnerships with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) as well as with other exhibitions and international conferences relating to broadcasting and media in every region in Asia. Through these partnerships we seek to actively promote international mutual cooperation and send out messages about the global development of digital innovation in media, including through the organization of various forums relating to the global broadcasting business

JEITA will open applications for exhibitors on March 1st, 2012, and the first deadline for filing exhibit applications will be Thursday, May 31st with the second and final deadline for submission of exhibit applications on Friday, June 29th. More information is available at the official website (
