Today, we asked writers and correspondents who are familiar with the industry about their impressions of Inter BEE 2006.

What were the attractions of Inter BEE 2006?

Because Inter BEE is held at the end of the year, it is the ideal venue for showcasing the latest technologies and information released by NAB, IBC, and BIRTV in their finalized forms.
In recent years, we are seeing more and more top manufacturers participating not only from Japan but also from the headquarters of overseas manufacturers as well. And as we make appointments for coverage, every opportunity is used to obtain pertinent information from sources at the highest levels.

What were this year’s major topics of interest?

Because nationwide digital terrestrial broadcasting will commence in Japan from December of this year, I think technologies and solutions related to high-definition as well as those centering on HD production were of special interest. Other topics of interest include those related to the digitization of broadcasting because production costs will most certainly increase as broadcasters begin to focus more on the aspects of content creation. In this environment, there will be increased demand placed on manufacturers in the industry and it will be interesting to see how they work to answer customer needs.
